Re: SageCat Rigging and Derigging

Assuming the production SageCat has lazyjacks?
If so, based on the images guessing stowed/deployed system vs. fixed?

In the SageCat rigging video could you also demonstrate deploying, use and stowing of the lazy jacks?

Re: The "little" details and questions??

Scoob,thanks for the info.

More details, the more impressed with the design.

Still on the fence between the SageCat and Sloop. Couple people I know that have owned Montgomery boats keep telling me "sloop rig" without giving me a real solid reason against cat rigged.

Re: The "little" details and questions??

Thanks for the above info. More questions. Has SageMarine decided to go with the round portholes on both the SageCat and 15? Will they include bug screens? Personally prefer round. JMHO, they match up nice with the classic lines of the SageCat and Sloop. Any major differences in mast stepping betwee...

Re: Going up and down

Thanks for posting on the blog page detailed info regarding the thought, design and function of the ballasted daggerboard. Happy to hear that there are a combination of baffles and trunk seal to keep water from squirting in. Also the extra 25# over the pre-design 200# ballast plus the mass of the tr...

Re: What's it like sailing a SageCat?

On the fence trying to decide between the SageCat and Sage15. Recently flipped toward to SageCat again. The Cat looks to be very efficient under light air conditions. Local near shore (within 5 miles of mainland or any of the islands) conditions are a mixed bag. Multiple elements influencing wind ve...

The "little" details and questions??

Cockpit:
1. Dimensions?
2. Dimensions of storage compartments. Overall and opening size?
3. Will a screened version of the companion way door/boards be an option? Should be a relatively easy DIY if not.

Anchoring:
1. Bow cleat robust enough to handle a "storm" anchor?

Any chance of a YT video demonstrating the design and the process of retracting/lowering the daggerboard?

Will the Sage boats have an electrical system option similar to the Sage 17?

Limited sailing experience. Dingy "sailor". Question? How does one heave to a cat rigged boat. Sort of understand the process in a sloop. But in a cat rig a bit clueless.

Sailing experience is limited to Lake Superior in 420s and Lazers plus one day crewing on a race boat. Have windsurfed off the shores HI to the Red Sea. Based on those experiences my favorite sailing location would be my "front yard". Western Lake Superior. The waters surrounding the Apostle Is.
